Purpose After Service

Between 2000 and 2021, 285 Canadian Armed Forces veterans took their own lives—roughly one every month.

Service leaves marks you can’t always see. When the uniform comes off, the structure, camaraderie, and purpose often vanish too. Veterans and first responders can find themselves surrounded by people but feel completely alone. Often times, the pain doesn’t end when the mission does.

I know this firsthand.

I’m Dan Marsh, co-founder and CEO of the Light For Veterans Foundation. I’m a veteran who lives with PTSD and physical injuries from war. My trauma cost me a marriage and years of feeling lost. Therapy helped—but what truly changed me were two programs that gave me something deeper: Belief that I could have purpose again.

As someone once said:
"Most depressed people don’t need medication—they need purpose, a mission, and the power to carry it out."

Every year, our LFV Golf Tournament strives to connect veterans and first responders to grassroots programs that help them rebuild their sense of meaning, identity, and hope.

This isn’t just a fundraiser—it’s a lifeline.

Join us. Sponsor. Donate. Participate.
Help us give our heroes a new mission—and a reason to keep fighting.
